Course Aim
This course is designed to stimulate those individuals who have an interest in the Equine world and are seeking to improve their career opportunities in this industry. This is an entry-level course.
Career Opportunities
On successful completion of this course, participants will have a number of job options available and possible career pathways within Racing, Equestrian, Breeding and performance horse industries.
Entry Requirements
Minimum age – 16 years. Applicants must be in good health. A reasonably high level of physical fitness is essential. A genuine interest in horses and their care is essential.
Delivery Mode
Competency based training utilizing the classroom and learning laboratories, practical and work experience.
School-based traineeship: Part-time – 1 day per week.
Course Duration
18 months.
Assessments
Competency based assessment will be conducted throughout the course. The primary focus is on the ability of the student to apply knowledge and practical skills when performing workplace tasks, to the required level and standards as identified by the relevant industry bodies.
