Students will normally
be expected to have an English Proficiency level equivalent to IELTS
2.5 or an alternative qualification. However, English Proficiency
training is an integral part of the College's training program.
Full-time
contact teaching 20 hours per week - represents a full-time study
program.

| Certificate III in Racing
– (Advanced Stablehand) |

A
course of study for people who intend to work in the horse
industry. This course is a pathway and the beginning of a
number of options in the Equine Industry.

| Certificate III in Racing
– (Trackrider) |
|
To develop students in general
horse management skills commonly used in the horse racing
industry with special emphasis being given to the skills required
to ride racehorses in trackwork.
|
| Certificate IV in Racing
– (Jockey) |
|
To provide students with the
skills required for entry into an apprenticeship as a jockey.
The course will develop oral and written communication, numeracy
relevant to racing, personal organisation, personal business
management, stable management, race day procedures and race
riding skills. Students will be required to complete the
race riding elements of Unit RGRPSH414A, after they have been
accepted for an apprenticeship by an Australian Racing Control
Authority.
